Extension of a patient-friendly medical practice with optimised working conditions
Practice Dr. Mordasini
The practice had become too small due to the increase in staff and patients. Additional rooms were rented. The goal was to integragte the new rooms into the existing practice and optimise the entire practice for the various needs and work processes. The particular challenge was to keep the practice up and running during the entire reconstruction phase.
Under the expert guidance of Global Shop Design, the floor plan was modified: A larger reception, a new practice room, an ECG room, and a staff room including a kitchen and a new archive were created. To bring daylight into the new corridor, satined glass walls were used as partitions. In order to guarantee the discretion of the patients, the walls were further equipped with double glazing so that conversations could not be overheard. The conversion was carried out in segments so the practice could be operated without interruption.

Being at home in a nursing home
Due to the expansion of outpatient care services, senior citizens either move into a home a lot later or even not at all. The new home should offer a secure home with a fresh and cosy character, thus increasing the attractiveness for new residents. And it doesn’t always have to be a new building or an extension. Even a renovation of the existing rooms – i.e. a new room layout, a more comprehensible signage system or improved acoustics – can have a positive effect on residents and staff. A new and pleasant lighting, a supportive colour concept and cosy furnishings can also achieve significant improvement.
